The Memphis Grizzlies confirmed on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, that Ja Morant will miss the rest of the 2025-26 season following a PRP injection to treat a left elbow UCL sprain. The 26-year-old point guard will begin offloading the elbow as part of his rehabilitation and is expected to make a full recovery in time for the 2026-27 campaign.
Morant has appeared in 20 games this season, averaging 19.5 points, 8.1 assists, and 3.3 rebounds while shooting 41% from the field. His absence leaves Memphis without its leading playmaker and one of the team’s primary scorers.
The Grizzlies also reported that Brandon Clarke will miss the remainder of the season due to a right calf strain, while center Zach Edey underwent a procedure for left elbow discomfort, sidelining him through the end of the campaign. Both are expected to return fully next season.
Memphis has struggled to maintain consistency, sitting 12th in the Western Conference with a 24-47 record. The team has lost nine of its last ten games, highlighting the impact of multiple injuries, including season-ending absences for Santi Aldama, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and Scotty Pippen Jr.
With the Grizzlies missing Morant, Clarke, and Edey, bench players and younger talent like Cam Spencer, Jaylen Wells, and GG Jackson II are expected to take larger roles down the stretch. Memphis is focused on development and evaluating roster depth ahead of the offseason.
The loss of Morant and other key contributors effectively ends Memphis’ playoff hopes, as the team sits 32.5 games behind the top Western seeds.
