The Atlanta Hawks and Detroit Pistons are set to meet Wednesday, March 25 at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, with tipoff scheduled for 7:00 PM ET. Both teams enter the game carrying several injuries that could influence rotations and minutes.

For Atlanta, RayJ Dennis, Keshon Gilbert, and Asa Newell are listed as doubtful, all two-way players with limited impact on the Hawks’ core rotation. Jalen Johnson is questionable with left shoulder inflammation, a key concern as the forward is averaging 22.7 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 8.0 assists this season.

Detroit faces more significant setbacks. Cade Cunningham remains out with a left lung pneumothorax, removing the team’s leading scorer and primary playmaker from the lineup. Wendell Moore Jr. and Isaiah Stewart are also sidelined due to injuries, while Marcus Sasser is doubtful with a right hip strain. Javonte Green, Isaac Jones, Bobi Klintman, and Tolu Smith are all questionable, leaving the Pistons’ rotation uncertain.

The Hawks come off a dominant 146-107 home victory over Memphis on Monday, March 23, bouncing back after a 95-117 loss at Houston on March 20. Detroit also won its most recent game, edging the Los Angeles Lakers 113-110 at Little Caesars Arena.

Season series history favors the Pistons, who swept the Hawks in three prior meetings: 120-112 in Atlanta, 99-98 in Detroit, and 142-115 again in Detroit.

Atlanta will likely need strong contributions from Nickeil Alexander-Walker (20.4 PPG, 3.7 APG) and Dyson Daniels (11.8 PPG, 5.9 APG) to counter Detroit’s balanced scoring attack led by Tobias Harris (13.1 PPG) and Jalen Duren (19.2 PPG, 10.5 RPG).

Atlanta’s depth could be tested if Johnson misses, as Onyeka Okongwu (15.5 PPG, 7.7 RPG) and CJ McCollum (18.4 PPG) may need to absorb heavier offensive and defensive loads. Detroit’s rotation will similarly rely on role players like Duncan Robinson (11.9 PPG) and Ausar Thompson (9.9 PPG) to offset Cunningham’s absence.

Both teams must adjust strategies to account for key absences, particularly for the Pistons, who aim to maintain their 52-19 record atop the Eastern Conference. Atlanta, sitting at 40-32, seeks to improve its playoff positioning with a road victory.
