A disappointing outing in Chicago left Rockets head coach Ime Udoka frustrated after his team dropped a 132-124 game to the lottery-bound Bulls on Monday.
Udoka was ejected late in the fourth quarter after disputing a flagrant foul and multiple technical calls, according to Varun Shankar of The Houston Chronicle.
“Flagrant was soft as hell, that’s nothing. And the techs were soft, too,” Udoka said of a flagrant foul called on Amen Thompson and technicals given to Thompson and Kevin Durant. “Not about to complain about a soft crew, so it is what it is.”
While he took issue with the officiating, Udoka was even more critical of his team’s effort.
Houston surrendered 41 points in the first quarter and quickly fell behind by 20 against a Bulls team that had one of the league’s worst offenses since the All-Star break.
“Poor start, disrespected the game. Not prepared from the get-go,” Udoka said. “Just not aggressive, following around, watching them shoot. … You look at the records, you look at who you’re playing against … and don’t come out prepared and let them be comfortable, gain confidence.”
