The Los Angeles Lakers enter Thursday’s matchup against the Miami Heat with multiple rotation players listed on the injury report, including Luka Doncic and LeBron James.
The game is scheduled for 8:00 PM ET at Kaseya Center in Miami, with both teams managing key health concerns that could impact rotation decisions and late-game execution.
Doncic is listed as questionable due to right hip soreness, while James carries a questionable tag with left foot arthritis.
Austin Reaves is also questionable with a right forearm contusion, adding another layer of uncertainty to the Lakers’ perimeter scoring and playmaking.
Los Angeles relies heavily on its three primary ball-handlers, as Doncic averages 33.0 points and 8.5 assists, while Reaves contributes 23.6 points and 5.6 assists per game. James, at 21.4 points and 6.8 assists per contest, remains a key secondary initiator and half-court organizer.
If any of those three are limited or unavailable, the Lakers may lean more on Marcus Smart and secondary options like Rui Hachimura to stabilize possessions.
Maxi Kleber has already been ruled out with a back strain, reducing frontcourt depth behind Deandre Ayton, who is averaging 12.6 points and 8.3 rebounds on 67.0% shooting.
On the other side, Miami’s injury report is longer but less concentrated at the top of the rotation.
Bam Adebayo is available despite right calf tightness, and his presence is critical given his 20.0 points and 9.7 rebounds per game.
Nikola Jovic and Pelle Larsson are also available, providing spacing and secondary playmaking in the Heat’s system.
However, Miami will be without Andrew Wiggins, who is sidelined with left big toe sesamoiditis.
Wiggins’ absence removes a 15.9-point scorer and a key wing defender, which could affect matchups against the Lakers’ forwards.
Jaime Jaquez Jr. is also out with left hip tightness, further thinning Miami’s wing rotation.
Terry Rozier remains out due to being away from the team, limiting backcourt depth alongside primary scorers Tyler Herro and Norman Powell.
Three two-way G League players—Vladislav Goldin, Trevor Keels, and Jahmir Young—are also out.
The Heat enter the game after two consecutive losses, including a 136-106 defeat in Charlotte.
The Lakers, meanwhile, are on a two-game winning streak against Houston and have won seven straight overall, improving to 44-25 and holding the third seed in the Western Conference.
Los Angeles leads the season series 1-0 after a 130-120 win in November.
