Cleveland Cavaliers forward Evan Mobley shared his early basketball inspirations, telling Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson, “Kevin Durant was my favorite player. I used to watch him a lot.”
Mobley described following Durant’s career from Oklahoma City to his championship years, noting, “That’s always been my favorite because we had similar builds growing up and stuff like that.”
Being from Los Angeles, Mobley also cited other influences, saying, “James [Harden] obviously. Paul Pierce. It’s a lot of guys. I watch the game and I take bits and pieces from different players, but I also try to focus on my game and what I have.”
Asked about his potential signature shoe, Mobley responded, “It’s like everyone would want that. It’s a cool thing to have, but I’m happy with Adidas right now and I like the shoes I’m in right now.”
Mobley reflected on the Cavaliers’ 2025-26 season, explaining, “It’s a long season and not every season is the same. Last season we had a great start and this season we didn’t have the best start, but we’re still in a pretty good position right now. We’re gonna finish strong so just go season by season and game by game.”
Currently, he is averaging 18.1 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 3.6 assists in 54 games for the Cavaliers this season.
Cleveland sits fourth in the Eastern Conference at 42-27, with Donovan Mitchell leading the team at 28 points per game and James Harden contributing nearly 20 points per game across 15 appearances.
