Returning to Salt Lake City seemed to spark a strong performance from Jordan Clarkson.
The New York Knicks guard delivered his best scoring game of the season on Wednesday, finishing with 27 points in a 134-117 victory over the Utah Jazz, the team he previously played for.
Clarkson logged 26 minutes in the win, marking his highest playing time since Christmas Day.
Prior to that, he had only seen a combined 20 minutes of action across his three other appearances in March.
Head coach Mike Brown praised the veteran for stepping up when the team needed him.
“For him to go out and perform the way he did, you couldn’t ask for anything better,” Brown said. “And it goes to show he’s not just keeping his body right but his mind is in a good spot to go after coming in when you’re down [18 points] in the first half.
“So just to see that, you couldn’t ask for anything better. Especially from him, who is a veteran who hasn’t been playing or in the rotation and all of a sudden we need him.”
Clarkson is set to become an unrestricted free agent once the season concludes.
