In a piece for The Athletic, John Hollinger reviewed the Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum’s first two games of the season and noted that the star forward didn’t appear to show any physical limitations.

Hollinger added that because Boston was already performing at an elite level before Tatum returned, the Celtics likely don’t need the perennial All-NBA forward to be at his absolute best in order to make a serious playoff push.

Hollinger also highlighted rookie wing Hugo Gonzalez, pointing out that the 20-year-old has already impressed with his defensive effort and rebounding ability despite his size.

According to Hollinger, Gonzalez brings plenty of energy to the floor and is effective finishing around the basket, particularly in transition.

However, his outside shooting and ball-handling remain areas that still need improvement.

Hollinger also mentioned that Boston has developed several young players successfully over the past two seasons, suggesting the Celtics could be an ideal environment for the Spanish small forward to continue growing.
