Ja Morant is expected to remain sidelined for at least two additional weeks because of a sprained ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow, the Memphis Grizzlies announced Thursday.

The team said Morant continues to make progress in his rehabilitation program, but he has not fully recovered and is still dealing with discomfort in the injured elbow.

Medical imaging conducted Wednesday showed that the injury has not completely healed, prompting the team to extend his recovery timeline.

The Grizzlies said the scans revealed “incomplete healing of the injury.”

Morant originally sustained the elbow injury on January 21 and has been working through rehab since then.
