The Lakers have posted an 11–6 record in games when Luka Doncic, LeBron James, and Austin Reaves have all been available, but the numbers suggest the trio is still working through how to best function together on the court.

According to Law Murray of The Athletic, the team has only outscored opponents by three total points in the 297 minutes that all three players have shared the floor.

Offensively, those lineups have struggled to produce at an elite level.

The Lakers are scoring just 109.2 points per 100 possessions when Doncic, James, and Reaves play together, a figure that would rank near the bottom of the league compared to team-wide offensive ratings.

Head coach JJ Redick acknowledged that the challenge comes from balancing the roles of three players who are all used to having the ball in their hands.

Finding that balance, he said, requires sacrifices from everyone involved, including other players sharing the floor with them.

“The bigger challenge is when they’re all on the court together,” Redick said, “because they all want the basketball, and the reality … people have to sacrifice. The other two guys also have to sacrifice they’re out there with those three guys.

“LeBron, his usage is low for his career. When Austin’s been out there, his usage is a little bit less than what it’s been throughout the season.”
