The Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 122-114 to snap a two-game skid on Wednesday night.
Jrue Holiday dropped 35 points and 11 assists, while Jeremi Grant added 30 points for the Trail Blazers, making a push to qualify for the playoffs.
Robert Williams III tallied 20 points and 11 rebounds, and Matisse Thybulle added three rebounds, an assist, and a steal on his 29th birthday.
Portland used a 24–19 scoring edge over the final nine minutes to seal the win. They had lost three of their last four and six of their last 10 entering Wednesday.
On the other hand, Memphis got double-figure scoring from seven players but not enough to beat the Blazers.
Grizzlies’ Jaylen Wells led the way with 24 points, and GG Jackson added 20. Olivier-Maxence Prosper, who earlier in the day signed a multi-year contract, had 17 points and nine rebounds in his eighth start.
Jahmai Mashack came off the bench to score 13 points, Cam Spencer scored all 12 of his points in the first half and added seven rebounds and seven assists, while Walter Clayton Jr. added 12 points, and Javon Small added 11.
Meanwhile, Ja Morant missed his 18th straight game for the Grizzlies due to a left elbow injury, and Zach Edey is out for the rest of the season after surgery on his left ankle.
Up next: Portland at Houston on Friday, while the Grizzlies host the Clippers on Saturday.
