The New York Knicks continued their push up the Eastern Conference standings Tuesday night, defeating the Toronto Raptors 111-95 at Scotiabank Arena.

Jalen Brunson led the way with 26 points and 10 assists, while Karl-Anthony Towns recorded 21 points and 12 rebounds as New York improved to 40-22. The victory marked the club’s fifth win in six games and its 12th straight over Toronto.

The Knicks became the third team in the East to reach 40 wins, joining Detroit and Boston. They remain third in the conference, six games behind the Pistons and 4.5 back of the Celtics.

Brunson shot 10-for-22 from the field and added two 3-pointers in 37 minutes. Towns went 10-for-17 and added six assists, helping steady the offense after a slow start.

OG Anunoby scored 15 points against his former team, and Josh Hart filled the stat sheet with 12 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Landry Shamet added 12 off the bench, and Mikal Bridges chipped in 11.

New York shot 57% from the field and finished 10-for-29 from beyond the arc. The visitors also controlled the glass 43-28 and received a decisive lift from their second unit, which outscored Toronto’s bench 26-8.

Brandon Ingram paced the Raptors with 31 points, including 16 in the opening quarter. Toronto led 25-15 midway through the first after hitting its first three attempts from deep.

The home side could not sustain that rhythm. After the hot start, the Raptors went 5-for-25 from 3-point range the rest of the way and trailed 68-58 at halftime.

RJ Barrett added 20 points on 9-for-13 shooting, while Scottie Barnes had 14. Immanuel Quickley finished with 13 points and 12 assists but shot 4-for-14 from the field.

Both teams struggled with ball security. New York committed 17 turnovers that led to 22 Toronto points, while the Raptors turned it over 15 times, resulting in 17 points for the Knicks.

Toronto fell to 35-26 overall and 16-16 at home. It also dropped to 4-10 against Atlantic Division opponents and lost for the 24th time this season when allowing 110 points or more.

The Knicks have not lost to the Raptors since Jan. 22, 2023. That consistency in the matchup has come through balanced scoring and interior control, both of which were evident again Tuesday.

New York returns home to host Oklahoma City on Wednesday. Toronto heads to Minnesota for the second night of a back-to-back on Thursday.
