The Houston Rockets dominated the Sacramento Kings 128-97, leading to their most-lopsided victory of the season on Wednesday night. 

Reed Sheppard made a career-high seven three-pointers and scored 28 points, while Alperen Sengun dropped a triple-double of 26 points, 13 rebounds, and 11 assists. Kevin Durant added 21 points.

The Rockets have won two in a row since blowing an 18-point lead in the fourth quarter at New York on Saturday.

On the other hand, Russell Westbrook dropped 22 points for the Kings, but 17 came in the first quarter. DeMar DeRozan added 15 on a night he moved ahead of Paul Pierce into 20th place on the NBA’s career scoring list.

Sacramento was coming off a victory over the Grizzlies that snapped their franchise-record 16-game losing streak.

Despite the loss, Westbrook went 8 for 14 in the first, with his 17 points in his most in a first quarter since getting that many against the Jazz on Feb. 9, 2020.

The rest of the kings were 1 for 10, as Houston with a burst in the first to lead 77-50 at the break.

Sengun had his first third triple-double of the season and 11th of his career.

The Rockets shot 54.7% from the field and hit 17 of their first 30 shots, and led by 36 points in the fourth quarter.

Meanwhile, the Kings lost starting forward Keegan Murray due to a left ankle injury in the first quarter.

Both teams will play a road game on Thursday night: the Kings at Dallas, while the Rockets at Orlando.
