Coby White is preparing to make his first appearance for the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday night.

The experienced combo guard has recently been upgraded to probable status ahead of Charlotte’s matchup against his former team, the Chicago Bulls.

White has been recovering from a left calf strain that he suffered shortly before the trade deadline, an injury that delayed his availability following the move.

The Hornets brought in White, along with Mike Conley, who has since been waived, as part of a trade with Chicago.

In return, the Bulls received Collin Sexton, Ousmane Dieng (who was later moved to the Milwaukee Bucks), and two second-round draft picks.

Initially, the agreement also included a third second-round selection going to Chicago, but the terms were adjusted after it became clear that White would require additional recovery time because of the calf injury.

So far this season, White has posted averages of 18.6 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game.

The veteran guard started 26 of his 29 appearances with the Bulls, though he is expected to take on a different role in Charlotte, likely providing scoring and playmaking support off the bench as he settles into the Hornets’ rotation.
