Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert will miss one game without pay after reaching seven Flagrant Foul points in the 2025-26 season, the NBA announced Saturday.

Gobert received a Flagrant Foul 1 with 29.8 seconds left in the second quarter of Minnesota’s 122-111 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Friday. He entered that game with six Flagrant Foul points.

The suspension will be served Sunday when the Timberwolves host the Philadelphia 76ers at Target Center. Under NBA rules, players with more than five Flagrant Foul points face automatic suspensions for each subsequent infraction.

This is Gobert’s first suspension of the 2025-26 season. The 33-year-old center has appeared in 55 games, averaging 31.3 minutes, 11.2 points, and 11.3 rebounds per game. He leads the team with 3.9 offensive rebounds and 7.4 defensive rebounds per contest.

Minnesota currently holds a 35-22 record, sitting sixth in the Western Conference behind the Los Angeles Lakers. The Timberwolves have won three of their last four games and are fighting for home-court positioning in the playoffs.

Anthony Edwards continues to lead Minnesota with 29.5 points per game while Julius Randle contributes 22.2 points and 6.9 rebounds. Jaden McDaniels adds 14.8 points and 4.3 boards, rounding out the team’s primary scoring trio.

The NBA’s Flagrant Foul point system aims to penalize repeated dangerous or excessive contact. A player with seven or more points who commits a Flagrant 1 or 2 receives an automatic two-game suspension.
