Dallas Mavericks rookie forward Cooper Flagg was seen wearing a walking boot during the All-Star break after suffering a left mid-foot sprain.

The injury will sideline him for Dallas’ first game following the break, though the team does not expect the absence to be long-term.

Head coach Jason Kidd said Flagg will be viewed as “day-to-day” after Friday’s matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Kidd provided an encouraging update on the player’s progress following Thursday’s practice.

“He got some shots up,” Kidd said of Flagg’s status after practice on Thursday. “He’s out of the boot right now, so we’ll see how that goes.”
