Paolo Banchero poured in 30 points and the Orlando Magic overwhelmed the Sacramento Kings 131-94 on Thursday night at Golden 1 Center, extending Sacramento’s skid to a franchise-record 15 games.
Orlando set a team record with 27 made 3-pointers on 50 attempts. Banchero shot 10-of-21 from the field and 5-of-7 from beyond the arc, adding six assists and five rebounds in the opener of a four-game road trip.
The Magic shot 54% from 3-point range and 50% overall, turning the game with spacing and ball movement that produced 28 assists on 45 made baskets.
Anthony Black added 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting, while Desmond Bane contributed 17 points and Jett Howard scored 16 on a perfect 6-of-6 night from the field, including four 3s.
Jevon Carter chipped in 14 points as Orlando improved to 29-25, strengthening its position in seventh place in the Eastern Conference.
Sacramento fell to an NBA-worst 12-45 and surpassed the franchise’s previous 14-game losing streaks set in 1959-60 and 1971-72, when the team competed as the Cincinnati Royals.
The Kings’ slide comes one day after Domantas Sabonis and Zach LaVine underwent season-ending surgeries, removing two primary offensive options from the lineup.
Sabonis played only 19 games this season because of a meniscus tear suffered in November, while LaVine had a procedure to repair a tendon in his right pinky finger.
Sacramento stayed within striking distance for much of the third quarter and trimmed the deficit to 83-81 with 4:25 remaining in the period.
Orlando responded with a decisive 19-3 run to close the quarter, taking a 102-84 lead into the fourth.
Tristan da Silva opened the final period with three consecutive 3-pointers, pushing the margin to 111-88 and removing any suspense.
The Magic outscored the Kings 48-13 over the final 16:25, capitalizing on Sacramento’s turnovers and defensive breakdowns.
Maxime Raynaud led the Kings with 17 points and 14 rebounds, while Keegan Murray scored 15.
Precious Achiuwa and Malik Monk each added 14 points, but Sacramento shot 41% from the field and 8-of-27 from 3-point range.
The NBA record for consecutive losses remains 28, set by Philadelphia across the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons and matched by Detroit in 2023-24.
Orlando continues its trip Saturday at Phoenix, while Sacramento heads to Austin to face San Antonio as it searches for its first win since Jan. 16.
