Hornets head coach Charles Lee lauded his team’s adaptability after Monday’s 130-93 rout of the Philadelphia 76ers at Spectrum Center. “These afternoon games have been really good for us… we’ve been a really resilient group all year, whether it’s injuries or… guys going off in a corner,” Lee said.
Lee emphasized the Hornets’ focus on both ends of the floor, highlighting defensive execution. “Edgecombe and Maxey were kind of held under control and had to battle through a lot of our different defenders and coverages. I’m really proud of the group,” he added.
Charlotte’s performance improved on previous outings, with all five starters scoring in double digits and 34 assists on 47 made field goals. Lee noted the team’s offensive cohesion: “Our offense just continues to come alive because of all the passing… the ball is moving, people are moving… I’m just loving what we’re giving each other on both ends of the floor.”
The win ended an 11-game losing streak to Philadelphia, a milestone Lee said boosts team confidence. “To beat a really good team in the 76ers… it means a lot. It’s an added confidence booster… our group continues to grow and build,” he explained.
Lee also acknowledged the fans and staff for supporting the team despite schedule changes due to Winter Storm Fern. “The people that came to the Hive… literally every person that came to the Spectrum today… we’re super appreciative. The game day atmosphere was still really good,” he said.
The Hornets improved to 19-28, marking their first three-game winning streak of the 2025-26 season. Charlotte dominated after a competitive first quarter, outscoring Philadelphia 81-37 over the middle two periods to take a 109-59 lead into the fourth.
Philadelphia struggled offensively, shooting 39 percent overall and 30 percent from three, with Tyrese Maxey limited to six points on 3-for-12 shooting. Kelly Oubre Jr. led the 76ers with 17 points.
Charlotte now heads to Memphis on Wednesday, while Philadelphia hosts the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday.
