The Minnesota Timberwolves delivered a convincing 108-83 win over the Golden State Warriors on Monday night at Target Center, controlling the game after a sluggish start. The victory snapped a five-game losing streak for Minnesota, its longest slide in more than three years.

The matchup lacked several marquee names, with Golden State missing Stephen Curry due to a knee injury and Draymond Green because of a back issue. Minnesota also played without Anthony Edwards, who was a late scratch as the team rested his recurring right foot injury.

Rudy Gobert anchored the Timberwolves with 15 points and 17 rebounds, providing interior control on both ends of the floor. His presence helped Minnesota dominate the glass and limit second-chance opportunities.

Julius Randle led all scorers with 18 points and added seven rebounds despite committing six turnovers. Bones Hyland supplied a major lift off the bench with 17 points, including several baskets that swung momentum back to the home side.

Naz Reid and Donte DiVincenzo each scored 15 points as Minnesota showcased balanced scoring across the rotation. DiVincenzo also dished out eight assists while knocking down five three-pointers.

The Timberwolves overcame a rough offensive opening, making just two of their first 12 shots and missing seven of their first eight attempts from beyond the arc. That allowed the Warriors to open the game on a 13-0 run and take a 16-8 lead.

Hyland ignited a Minnesota response with three transition layups, and Reid’s first three-pointer helped the Timberwolves close the quarter with a 21-20 advantage. From there, the tone of the game shifted.

Minnesota seized control with a decisive 21-4 run to close the second quarter. Randle scored 10 points during the surge, which sent the Timberwolves into halftime with a 53-38 lead.

Golden State struggled to find rhythm offensively throughout the night. The Warriors shot a season-low 23.1 percent from three-point range, finishing just 9-for-39 from deep.

Quinten Post led Golden State with 13 points, while Brandin Podziemski added 12 points and seven rebounds. Gui Santos posted a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds, but the visitors never seriously threatened after halftime.

Minnesota committed 23 turnovers but compensated with defensive activity and rebounding. The Timberwolves finished with a 56-45 advantage on the boards and recorded 10 blocks.
