Celtics star Jaylen Brown is taking charge for the Boston Celtics to keep the team at the top in the East, despite franchise star Jayson Tatum’s absence due to Achilles recovery.
The former Finals MVP had his spectacular nights in the previous month, scoring 30+ points in every game, including a 50-point performance on January 2, but still has not been regarded as a frontrunner in the NBA award races.
Meanwhile, Warriors forward Draymond Green discusses about the matter of how Brown has been performing lately, via “The Draymond Show” podcast.
“When he said, ‘I’m the best two-way player in the world,’ I get what he was saying, but he’s playing so great offensively that I don’t even know if he needs to talk about the best two-way player in the world,” Green said.
Green believes that being the best two-way player in the world was wholly different, as he sees Brown as the current best NBA player instead.
“He should just be talking about who’s the best player in the NBA right now. Because that’s the type of basketball Jaylen Brown has been playing. He’s been up there right at the top of the NBA. I’m not sure how he hasn’t moved into the top three of MVP voting.”
Brown is currently averaging 29.7 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 4.9 assists while shooting 50.1% from the field.
Despite being shorthanded without Tatum, the Boston Celtics are in third seed with a 23-13 win-loss record.
