When asked over the weekend about the chances of Dejounte Murray returning this season, New Orleans head coach James Borrego made it clear that nothing is guaranteed yet.

Borrego said Murray’s return timeline remains unclear, but noted the guard continues to make steady progress and is moving closer to rejoining the team as he recovers from his Achilles injury.

Murray has been putting in consistent work as part of his rehab, and the organization expects to have a better sense of his status in the near future.

Borrego indicated that the next few weeks should be important in determining where the player stands.

Murray has played 8 seasons for the Spurs, Hawks, and Pelicans. He has averaged 15.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 5.4 assists in 503 regular-season games.

He was selected to play in 1 All-Star game.
