Denver has managed to hold its ground without Nikola Jokic, finishing 2-2 in the four games he has missed. That record has helped limit the damage, but the more important development is how Jokic’s recovery is progressing.
According to the team, his rehab is moving in the right direction, and the expectation is that he will be back by the All-Star break at the latest.
Jokic has stayed with the team during its road trip on the East Coast, rather than rehabbing away from the group.
His work on the left knee has reportedly advanced, and he has been able to push himself more as part of the process, which is a positive sign for his return timeline.
Denver’s recent win in Philadelphia highlighted how thin the roster has been. The Nuggets needed overtime to beat the 76ers while playing without Jokic, Jamal Murray, Aaron Gordon, Christian Braun, and Tim Hardaway Jr.
That group joined Cameron Johnson and Jonas Valanciunas on the bench, both of whom remain out with longer-term injuries.
