Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 30 points and dished out seven assists to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder to a dominant 131-94 victory over the depleted Golden State Warriors on Friday at Chase Center. Chet Holmgren added 15 points and a season-high 15 rebounds as Oklahoma City built an early lead and never looked back.
The Warriors were missing Stephen Curry (ankle), Jimmy Butler (illness), Draymond Green (rest), and Jonathan Kuminga (back soreness), leaving Golden State’s lineup short-handed and struggling to keep pace. Will Richard led the visitors with 13 points, while Al Horford and Moses Moody contributed 13 each.
Gilgeous-Alexander hit 10 of 20 shots, including three 3-pointers, and converted all seven free throws, marking his seventh game in the last nine with 30 or more points and his third consecutive 30-point outing. Holmgren’s 15 rebounds were two shy of his career high, and he also scored 15 points to complement the Thunder’s efficient attack.
Oklahoma City opened the second quarter with a 19-0 run after Richard’s three-pointer cut the deficit to 38-36, turning a tight game into a commanding 64-45 halftime lead. The Thunder shot 52% overall and made all 19 of their free throws, while limiting Golden State to 36% shooting from the floor.
The win marked Oklahoma City’s fourth straight victory following its first two-game skid of the season, improving their record to 30-5. The Thunder also recorded 51 rebounds and 34 assists, showcasing balance and depth beyond Gilgeous-Alexander’s scoring.
Golden State fell to 18-17 with the loss, struggling in a lineup featuring Brandin Podziemski, Moses Moody, Will Richard, Gui Santos, and Quinten Post, while facing the challenges of a condensed rotation and missing key players. The Warriors will host Utah on Saturday, while the Thunder visit Phoenix on Sunday.
