
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 30 points in three quarters to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder (29-5) to a 124-95 rout of the Portland Trail Blazers (14-20) on Wednesday at Paycom Center. The win marked Oklahoma City’s third consecutive victory and reinforced their position atop the Western Conference.
Ajay Mitchell added 17 points off the bench, while Jalen Williams contributed 13 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Chet Holmgren recorded a double-double with 12 points, 10 rebounds, and a season-high six blocks.
Oklahoma City converted 25 Portland turnovers into 28 points and shot 48.9 percent from the field, making 44 of 90 attempts. Gilgeous-Alexander was 11 of 15 from the floor and 7 of 7 at the line, extending his streak of 20-point games to 105 consecutive contests.
Portland kept pace early, scoring 30 points in the first quarter and hitting six of seven three-pointers. Sidy Cissoko led the Blazers with 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting, while Deni Avdija added 17 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists. Shaedon Sharpe contributed 14 points.
The Thunder pulled away in the second quarter after Jalen Williams’ jumper made it 60-44. Portland responded with a nine-point run, but Gilgeous-Alexander scored nine points in a 13-2 stretch to give Oklahoma City a 73-55 halftime lead.
The defending champions extended their advantage to 86-60 on a layup by Gilgeous-Alexander. The star guard sat out the fourth quarter as Oklahoma City cruised, with back-to-back three-pointers from Cason Wallace and Isaiah Joe making it 106-78 early in the final period.
The Thunder dominated on both ends, outrebounding Portland 41-39 and forcing 15 turnovers. Oklahoma City also received efficient bench production from Mitchell, who hit all four field goals and all eight free throws.
The Trail Blazers were limited to 39 percent shooting and 40 percent from three-point range. Avdija, Sharpe, and Cissoko accounted for the bulk of Portland’s scoring, but no other player reached double digits.
Oklahoma City will travel to face the Golden State Warriors on Friday, while Portland visits the New Orleans Pelicans in their next game.
