Marc Stein reported on The Stein Line Monday, December 29, that the Atlanta Hawks may be open to trading Zaccharie Risacher if the right scenario arises. The 20-year-old, drafted first overall just 18 months ago, has yet to develop into the star the franchise anticipated.

Risacher is in the second year of his four-year, $57 million rookie scale contract, with the third-year team option already exercised. He is averaging 10.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 24.2 minutes per game across 30 appearances this season.

Atlanta holds a 15-18 record, sitting 9.5 games behind the Eastern Conference leaders the Detroit Pistons. The team scores 118.8 points per game but allows 120.1.

Risacher could be part of a package alongside expiring contracts like Kristaps Porzingis and Luke Kennard in a potential trade for a star like Anthony Davis. However, it remains unclear how much additional draft compensation the Hawks would be willing to offer to complete such a deal midseason.

The Hawks rely heavily on Jalen Johnson (23.7 points, 10.4 rebounds) and Nickeil Alexander-Walker (20.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists) for production. Trae Young contributes 19.3 points and 8.9 assists per game, while Onyeka Okongwu averages 16.1 points and 7.6 rebounds. Dyson Daniels adds 11.5 points and 6.5 assists, but secondary scoring beyond this core remains uneven.
