Orlando Magic head coach Jamahl Mosley lauded his team’s resilience after Saturday night’s 127-126 victory against the Denver Nuggets at Kia Center. “Proud of how they responded after last night…They kept their composure the entire time, communicated at a high level, and got the stops when we needed them,” Mosley said.

Mosley highlighted Anthony Black’s career night, noting his confidence and defensive impact. “Confidence, stepping into his shot, playing the right way…Taking on the challenge of guarding one of the best guards in the league,” Mosley explained, referring to Black’s 38-point performance.

The coach praised Orlando’s second unit for managing Denver’s post threats. “JI [Jonathan Isaac] did a great job of taking that away…Our second unit did an excellent job of knowing their assignments and then being able to take those stops and push it to the other end,” Mosley said.

Reflecting on the team’s performance over the last two games, Mosley emphasized their consistency. “It feels better…We know what we’re capable of doing, and our guys just responded the right way from how we played last night,” he added.

Halftime adjustments played a key role in Orlando’s comeback. “Guys recognizing and feeling the game, making the right play, the right pass at the right time…We found a lot of that down the stretch,” Mosley noted.

Turnover management was another focal point. “Being decisive in what we’re doing…If you’re open, you shoot it; if not, put two on the ball, come off of it and find the open man…That’s exactly why you can take care of the basketball,” he said.

Mosley also addressed rotation flexibility during the game. “You start off with a card of knowing what you want to do, but the game always tells you something…You don’t know that Wendell’s going to foul out and you got to put JI in,” he explained.

He emphasized discipline in late-game situations. “Trying to be aggressive, attack the basket, and then not fouling…That’s what we got to continue to do as best as possible,” Mosley said.

Orlando overcame a 17-point deficit, shooting 67.4 percent in the second half, while Desmond Bane scored 24 points, including 15 in the fourth quarter. Black delivered the defining play by stripping Nikola Jokic and converting a layup in the final minute. Jokic recorded 34 points, 21 rebounds, and 12 assists, but Denver’s seven-game road winning streak was snapped.

The Magic improved to 18-15 and will travel to Toronto on Monday, while the Nuggets fell to 22-9 and continue their road trip in Miami.
