Dallas Mavericks center Anthony Davis had his night cut short during the team’s Christmas Day matchup against the Golden State Warriors after experiencing discomfort related to a groin issue.

The organization later explained that the problem was classified as right groin spasms, which ultimately prevented him from continuing in the game.

Davis was only able to stay on the floor for just under 11 minutes before the injury forced him to head to the locker room.

His early exit was a tough blow for Dallas, especially considering his importance as the team’s starting center and interior presence on both ends of the court.

The setback also comes at an unfortunate time, as Davis had only recently returned to action after missing a significant stretch of games.

Prior to this appearance, he had been sidelined for 14 straight contests while recovering from a strained calf, making this latest issue another interruption in his attempt to regain rhythm and consistency with the lineup.
