Memphis Grizzlies head coach Tuomas Iisalo highlighted the team’s resilience following Monday night’s 121-103 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers at Intuit Dome.

“We started the season essentially without point guards and without two of our… key players. That put us in a very difficult spot early on,” Iisalo said, reflecting on early-season injuries.

Iisalo emphasized the importance of consistent work and adaptability. “Instead of feel[ing] sorry for ourselves… we just put our working hats on and try to make it work,” he said, noting how the team focused on solutions game by game.

The coach praised the performance of Cam Spencer off the bench, who scored a career-high 27 points. “He’s really broadened his skill set… he’s a lot of times tasked with the on-ball duties… now just his value in terms of the league is completely different,” Iisalo said.

Iisalo credited Jaren Jackson Jr. and Ja Morant for overcoming disruptions in preseason preparation. “Because of the injuries, it was very hard for us to create that ecosystem around them… now the whole thing is much healthier,” he said, highlighting team growth.

The Grizzlies controlled the game from the start, with Jackson scoring 21 of his 31 points in the first half. Memphis shot 52 percent from the field and 41 percent from three-point range while recording nine blocks, led by Jackson’s five.

Los Angeles struggled with turnovers and physicality, committing 18 miscues and shooting 46 percent overall. Kawhi Leonard led the Clippers with 21 points, while James Harden scored 13 in a difficult matchup.

Iisalo stressed the team-oriented approach that fueled the win. “It’s very easy to talk about one player… but all of it is just how the whole team is,” he said, underscoring the Grizzlies’ collective execution.

The victory improved Memphis to 12-14, marking their third win over the Clippers in less than three weeks. The Grizzlies will travel to Minnesota on Wednesday, aiming to maintain momentum, while Los Angeles visits Oklahoma City seeking solutions amid an extended home losing streak.
