Josh Giddey led the Chicago Bulls to a 129–126 comeback win over the Charlotte Hornets on Friday, ending a seven-game losing streak and improving Chicago’s record to 10–14.
Giddey posted 26 points, 11 assists, and seven rebounds, orchestrating the rally from a 13-point second-half deficit. Coby White added 20 points, including the crucial free throws that sealed the game, while all five starters finished in double figures.
Zach Collins contributed 16 points off the bench, helping the Bulls overcome Charlotte’s 16 three-pointers on 43.2% shooting. Isaac Okoro’s key and-one layup gave Chicago a 102–99 lead with nine minutes remaining.
The Hornets were powered by Kon Knueppel, who scored a career-high 33 points with nine assists, and Miles Bridges, who added 32 points. Both combined for 15 triples in the contest, keeping Charlotte in striking distance until the final seconds.
A critical moment came with 10 seconds left when officials overturned a foul call on Collins after a replay review, preserving Chicago’s lead and allowing White to convert two free throws with 8.2 seconds remaining.
Charlotte led 61–51 at halftime, with Bridges scoring 20 points and Knueppel 17, both shooting 7-of-11 from beyond the arc. Virtus extended the lead to 13 in the third quarter before Giddey and the Bulls shifted momentum.
Despite struggling from deep, Chicago executed in transition and on defense, limiting the Hornets’ opportunities in the final minutes. Giddey’s late layup off the glass extended the lead to five with 39 seconds remaining.
The Bulls will host the Pelicans on Sunday, while Charlotte, now 7–18, travels to Cleveland for a matchup on the same day.
