Will Clyburn delivered one of the most efficient shooting performances of his EuroLeague career on Friday, leading FC Barcelona to a 98–85 win over Olympiacos Piraeus at Palau Blaugrana.
One week after a dominant road showing in Belgrade against Crvena Zvezda, the veteran forward set the tone early and never let up, establishing control against one of the competition’s most disciplined defensive teams.
Clyburn wasted no time finding his rhythm, drilling two three-pointers in the opening minutes to push Barcelona ahead 8–2 and force an early Olympiacos adjustment.
The forward finished with a season-high 28 points and a career-best seven made three-pointers, anchoring an offense that steadily wore down the visitors.
Barcelona’s edge extended well beyond shot-making, as Xavi Pascual’s team dictated the physical side of the game from the opening tip.
The hosts outrebounded Olympiacos 38–28 and collected 19 offensive rebounds, which translated into 18 second-chance points and sustained pressure across four quarters.
Defensive activity also defined the night, with Barcelona recording nine steals and converting 12 Olympiacos turnovers into 21 points.
The third quarter proved decisive, as Barcelona broke the game open with a 30–17 surge that reflected its control on both ends.
Clyburn knocked down three triples during the stretch, while Kevin Punter added 11 of his 24 points, pushing the lead to 72–56 after 30 minutes.
Sasha Vezenkov led the visitors with 22 points, providing interior scoring and efficiency around the basket, while Tyler Dorsey added 19 points and Evan Fournier chipped in 11.
Olympiacos, which entered the game allowing just 81.8 points per contest, struggled to contain Barcelona’s spacing and transition attack during that decisive run.
Barcelona never relinquished control in the fourth quarter, matching Olympiacos’ scoring while maintaining composure against late pressure.
Barcelona improved to 10–5 and will look for a fourth straight win next week with a road game at Paris Basketball followed by a home date against Baskonia.
Olympiacos dropped to 8–6 and now faces Valencia and ASVEL in a demanding double-round week.
