Golden State’s front office reportedly sees Draymond Green as untouchable for most deals, with Jake Fischer noting the only player who could justify a trade is Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Fischer emphasized that offers involving Jonathan Kuminga and Brandin Podziemski may be intriguing for the Bucks, but the Warriors are unlikely to move Green or Jimmy Butler for anyone else.
Green, averaging 8.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 5.5 assists this season, remains a central piece for Golden State’s 13-12 squad. His defensive versatility and playmaking continue to anchor the Warriors’ frontcourt alongside Stephen Curry (27.9 ppg) and Butler (19.5 ppg, 5.0 apg).
Milwaukee, sitting at 10-15, relies heavily on Giannis, who is posting 28.9 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game. Kevin Porter Jr. adds 21.8 points, while Ryan Rollins contributes 17.5 points and 6.0 assists. The Bucks’ depth behind Giannis could make a trade involving Golden State’s young talents enticing.
The Warriors’ potential package would likely center on Kuminga and Podziemski, both showing promise as versatile wings with scoring and defensive upside. Fischer noted that including Draymond’s salary or Butler’s would only be feasible for a player of Giannis’ caliber.
Golden State has built its core around Curry, Green, and Butler, making any trade of a key defensive and playmaking piece like Green highly selective. The 2025-26 Warriors have struggled with consistency, but moving Green for anyone short of Giannis would disrupt the team’s championship-contending balance.
If the trade were to occur, Golden State would acquire a transformative superstar in Giannis, potentially shifting the league’s balance of power. Milwaukee, meanwhile, could receive a combination of veteran leadership and high-upside young talent in return.
