Philadelphia 76ers forward Kelly Oubre Jr. will remain out for at least another week as he continues to recover from a sprained LCL in his left knee, and the extended absence has taken an emotional toll on him.

As reported by Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer, Oubre acknowledged how difficult it has been to watch from the sidelines rather than contribute on the court, especially since his last appearance came back on November 14.

“It sucks,” the player said, expressing the frustration that comes with being unable to play. He explained that staying mentally steady has been its own challenge during his rehab process.

“Listen, man, I’m trying to stay above water, keep my head about it. Trying to fight the depression and all that stuff that comes with not being able to do your job and fulfill your purpose.

“So it’s a different challenge, and I’m up for the challenge, and I think the reward at the other side will be great just because I’m trying to take it day by day.”
