CJ McCollum delivered a career-high 46 points, including 10 three-pointers, to lead the Washington Wizards past the Atlanta Hawks 132-113 at Capital One Arena on Tuesday, November 25.

The Wizards (2-15) never trailed, opening the game with a 45-point first quarter and a 77-point first half, both season highs, while snapping a 14-game losing streak.

Alex Sarr added 27 points and 11 rebounds, complementing McCollum’s performance as Washington secured its first home win since April 2, 2025. Corey Kispert contributed 19 points before leaving midway through the third quarter with a thumb injury.

Washington’s early shooting was exceptional, making its first seven three-pointers and building a lead as large as 29 points in the opening quarter. The Wizards extended the advantage to 33 before the fourth quarter saw bench players finish the game.

For Atlanta (11-8), Kristaps Porzingis led with 22 points, while Onyeka Okongwu had 20, and Jalen Johnson contributed seven points and seven rebounds. The Hawks struggled in the second half, scoring only 58 points and falling in their worst defeat since the October 22 season opener against Toronto.

The Wizards shot 50% from three-point range and 57% overall, dished out 12 assists, and forced 13 turnovers, while Atlanta managed just 17.6% from beyond the arc.

Both teams now stand at 1-2 in NBA Cup play, with the Hawks set to host Cleveland on Friday and Washington visiting Indiana in the same round.
