Chicago Bulls guard Coby White is showing promising signs as he nears his return from a right calf strain, Joel Lorenzi of The Athletic reported on Thursday. The sixth-year guard was seen moving confidently on the court at the Advocate Center, wearing a brace but displaying no signs of discomfort.
White has yet to debut this season, but he highlighted the team’s upcoming three-game road trip as a potential timeline for returning to action. The Bulls will face Utah on November 16, Denver the following night, and Portland a couple of days later.
Over his career, White has averaged 15.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game. His ability to score efficiently from the perimeter and contribute in playmaking roles has made him a key part of Chicago’s rotation when healthy.
The Bulls have maintained strong form in White’s absence, holding a 6-1 record through seven games. Josh Giddey has led the team with 23.1 points, 10.0 assists, and 8.6 rebounds per game, while Nikola Vucevic continues to anchor the frontcourt with consistent scoring and rebounding.
Secondary contributions have come from Ayo Dosunmu, Matas Buzelis, and Kevin Huerter, who have helped keep Chicago competitive both at home and on the road. Dosunmu is averaging 16.2 points per game, Buzelis 14.9, and Huerter 12.9.
White’s return could provide a significant boost to the Bulls’ backcourt depth and scoring, especially during a challenging stretch of road games.
