Porter made 10 of 20 shots, including four three-pointers, and delivered a crucial three-point play with 22.1 seconds left to secure the lead. His performance became essential after Cam Thomas, who averaged 24.4 points, exited midway through the first quarter with hamstring tightness.
Brooklyn pulled away in the fourth quarter in a back-and-forth game featuring 12 lead changes and 10 ties. Nic Claxton added 18 points, Noah Clowney contributed 17, Tyrese Martin scored 16, and Terance Mann finished with 15, providing balanced scoring for the Nets.
The Pacers were led by Pascal Siakam, who posted 23 points and nine assists. Ben Sheppard scored 18, while backup center Jay Huff contributed 16 points, including four three-pointers. Despite their efforts, Indiana could not overcome the late surge from Brooklyn.
Brooklyn’s victory snapped a seven-game losing streak and allowed them to move to 1-7, matching the Pacers’ record. The Nets will host the Detroit Pistons on Friday, while Indiana travels to face the Denver Nuggets on Saturday.
