Russell Westbrook put on a show as he returned to the Mile High City facing his former team.

Despite falling short to the Denver Nuggets 130-124, the Sacramento Kings veteran guard finished with 26 points,12 rebounds, and six assists while shooting 10 of 17 and three of six from deep.

The triple-double machine has played 37 minutes, where this could be his best performance so far in the season, after a late signing with Sacramento.

The Kings now have a 2-5 win-loss record and will come home to start a five-game homestand after going 1-3 on their four-game road trip.

Meanwhile, Sacramento head coach Doug Christie commends Westbrook when asked about being a future Hall of Famer during pregame press conference.

“Spectacular, I can’t say enough about Russ. His gravity, his intensity, his attention to detail, his willingness to speak out as opposed to whispering in the corner. He’s going to say it. I’m that way, so it’s nice to have a player in the locker room who’s that way as well because communication is big. It’s something that has to happen amongst our players,” Christie said.

Westbrook, with his value slowly declining over the years, continued to prove to fans that he is still worth signing for and remains a dominant player in the league.

The 36-year-old has already been on different teams, but with Sacramento, he has secured his spot alongside Domantas Sabonis, who also contributed a double-double with 13 points and 17 rebounds, while DeMar DeRozan added 19 points.

Although he had just arrived in Sacramento months ago, he was slowly finding his groove as he averaged 13.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, and five assists.
