Dillon Brooks will be sidelined for a fourth consecutive game on Sunday, according to Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic.

The Phoenix Suns have updated his injury status, changing the diagnosis from right groin soreness to a core muscle strain.

“The soft tissue piece to it,” head coach Jordan Ott explained before Friday’s game.

“His pain tolerance being super high and trying to put a timeline on when Dillon Brooks can physically get out there. We know he’s going to step out there. That’s the thing we’re learning (about) Dillon in this process as he returns back.”

Before the injury, the player had been one of the Suns’ most productive scorers, averaging a career-high 19.3 points per game.

Brooks has played 9 seasons for the Grizzlies, Rockets and Suns. He has averaged 14.2 points and 3.2 rebounds in 495 regular-season games.
