The Orlando Magic cruised past the Washington Wizards 125-94 at Capital One Arena on Saturday night, extending their winning streak to two games.
Paolo Banchero posted 28 points and 11 rebounds in 26 minutes for his fourth double-double of the season, while Franz Wagner added 25 points and Wendell Carter Jr. contributed 16 points and 12 boards.
Orlando built a commanding 75-56 lead at halftime after outscoring Washington 43-21 in the second quarter. Banchero scored 15 points on 5-of-7 shooting during the surge, and Wagner added 11 points.
Keyshawn George led the Wizards with 17 points, and CJ McCollum scored 13, but Washington shot just 39.8% overall in their lowest-scoring game of the season. The Wizards have now lost four straight games and 11 consecutive matchups against the Magic.
The Magic outrebounded Washington 53-40 and limited the opponent under 100 points for the first time this season. Orlando shot 51.1% from the floor and made 33.3% of their three-point attempts.
Orlando’s third-quarter dominance extended the lead to 30 points, allowing coach Jamahl Mosley to give significant minutes to his bench down the stretch. Tyus Jones contributed 15 points and six assists off the bench, while Jonathan Isaac added eight points and six rebounds.
Banchero’s 3-of-6 shooting from three-point range and perfect 7-of-7 free-throw performance highlighted his efficiency, and the Magic held strong defensively to keep the Wizards well below their season scoring average.
Orlando improves to 3-4 on the season and 2-2 on their five-game road trip. The Magic travel to Atlanta on Monday, while Washington will face the New York Knicks on Sunday.
