New York Knicks center Mitchell Robinson participated fully in practice on Thursday, and head coach Mike Brown said he will be a game-time decision for Friday’s matchup in Chicago, according to Stefan Bondy of The New York Post.
Robinson, 27, has missed New York’s first four games of the season as part of what the team has called “left ankle injury maintenance.” The Knicks have not reported any new issue or setback, suggesting the decision to hold him out has been purely precautionary.
The big man’s health has been a focus for the Knicks since he underwent ankle surgery last offseason. Robinson didn’t make his 2024–25 season debut until February 28 and ultimately appeared in just 17 regular-season games after returning.
However, he was able to play in all 18 of New York’s playoff contests last spring, giving the team a much-needed interior presence.
With Robinson now back in full practice and nearing a return, the Knicks could soon regain one of their most important defensive anchors as they look to build momentum early in the season.
Robinson has played 7 seasons for the Knicks. He has averaged 7.8 rebounds and 7.8 points in 337 regular-season games.
