The Phoenix Suns delivered a stellar performance, boasting a 3-1 win-loss record during the NBA preseason, as they successfully built chemistry among newcomers following a revamp this offseason.

For the team’s leader, Devin Booker, who is also expected to take charge and has proven his maturity in leading, he aimed to sustain their effort and communication to win games.

“The standards are effort and communication. [Those] are always the main two that sit with me. So, we can make everything work if we have those things dialed in. It might not always be at its best, but even our low days have to be higher than most,” Booker said.

The Suns currently consist of young cores who were expected to step up and contribute alongside Booker, but one of the leading players, Jalen Green, was sidelined for the season opener due to a right hamstring injury.

While the 28-year-old superstar offered no excuses, he still expects them to win, despite a lack of experience, and views it as a matter of process that he addresses every day.

“I always expect to win games. That’s my expectation. I understand we’re young, I understand we have some learning to do, but that’s the nature of the game. We take it day by day. Get better every day. Play with a lot of energy. Play with a lot of pride,” he added.

Booker will look forward to having a great start when they face the Sacramento Kings in a season-opener tonight at PHX Arena.
