The Miami Heat are making final adjustments ahead of the 2025–26 NBA regular season, signing undrafted forward Steve Settle to an Exhibit 10 contract while releasing Gabe Madsen to clear the necessary roster spot.
According to Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald, Miami’s move aims to bring both players into the team’s G League system, giving each a chance to continue developing within the organization. The Heat must finalize their roster by Saturday to comply with league regulations.
Settle, a 6-foot-10 forward from Temple, averaged 12.6 points and 6.2 rebounds last season while shooting 47.8% from the field and 41.6% from three-point range.
Before transferring to Temple, Settle played three seasons at Howard University, where he developed a versatile scoring profile and consistent rebounding presence. Across his five collegiate seasons, he averaged 11.6 points and 5.5 rebounds per game while shooting nearly 44% overall.
Madsen, a 6-foot-6 guard out of Utah, exits after spending time with the Heat during the preseason. Known for his perimeter accuracy, he averaged 15.2 points per game on 37.1% shooting in his final collegiate season.
Across 122 college appearances, Madsen shot 36.0% from beyond the arc, showcasing a reliable long-range touch that could earn him a G League opportunity with Sioux Falls.
