The Philadelphia 76ers have named JP Clark as head coach of their G League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats, according to NBA insider Michael Scotto. Clark previously served as an assistant coach for the Blue Coats and brings extensive NBA and G League experience to the role.

Clark began his coaching career at Flagler College under his father, Bo Clark, after a playing injury forced him to shift focus from playing to coaching. He later held graduate assistant positions at Colgate University and the University of Central Florida.

In 2012, Clark entered the NBA coaching ranks with the Boston Celtics, serving as a player development coach and assisting with their G League affiliate, the Maine Red Claws. His early NBA experience laid the foundation for working with high-level talent.

Clark joined the Los Angeles Clippers in 2013 alongside Doc Rivers, spending seven seasons in player development and assistant coaching roles. He worked closely with stars such as Chris Paul, helping refine their skills and on-court strategies.

Since 2021, Clark has been an assistant coach with the Delaware Blue Coats. During his tenure, the team captured the 2022–23 NBA G League Championship.

The promotion gives Clark the opportunity to lead the Blue Coats, a team known for cultivating talent for the 76ers’ NBA roster. His experience in player development and strategy is expected to support both young prospects and NBA-assigned players.
