Josh Hart’s availability remains uncertain as the New York Knicks prepare to face Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday.

According to Kristian Winfield of The New York Daily News, Hart has been sidelined from practice for the past two days due to illness and could be forced to sit out the upcoming game.

It marks yet another early-season obstacle for the versatile forward. Hart entered training camp wearing a splint on his right ring finger, then dealt with back spasms during the team’s preseason opener in Abu Dhabi.

The spasms caused him to miss the second game of the international series, and it’s not clear if that issue is fully resolved.

Head coach Mike Brown acknowledged the uncertainty when asked about Hart’s condition.

“I’m not sure if Hart’s back issue has fully cleared up,” Brown admitted, leaving the door open for lingering concerns in addition to the illness that has recently kept him off the court.

Hart has played 8 seasons for 4 teams, including the Knicks and Pelicans. He has averaged 10.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 530 regular-season games.
