With its early season in the EuroLeague 2025-26, some spectacular players were expected to become MVP-caliber after a consistent performance in EuroBasket 2025.

Anadolu Efes star guard Shane Larkin has entered his eighth season, while consistently being the floor general. He averaged 13.5 points, four assists, and a 10.0 PIR in just two games.

The two-time EuroLeague champion led Efes to a 1-1 win-loss record, aiming to bring his momentum to the team after playing for Turkey in the recent EuroBasket.

However, his shooting touch was unexpectedly off the mark as he had already missed all of his three-point attempts with five shots.

Last season, Larkin often hit three-pointers, especially in two consecutive games. He shot 39.3% from three-point range.

The ex-NBA player can obtain the award once he returns to his shooting range, followed by fantastic playmaking and leadership in another championship run.

Larkin reunited with his former teammate Vasilije Micic after falling short against Hapoel Tel Aviv, with whom he had won titles. The last time he won a EuroLeague championship with Anadolu was in 2021 and 2022.
