FC Bayern Munich claimed its first victory of the EuroLeague season with a 97–88 triumph over Crvena Zvezda at SAP Garden in Round 2.
The contest remained close for the opening 25 minutes before the German champions broke it open with a 23–6 surge across the third and fourth quarters.
Andi Obst delivered a career night, scoring 31 points on 9 made three-pointers to pace Bayern’s offense. Oscar da Silva added 12 points, while Isiaha Mike finished with 11.
Jordan Nwora led the Serbian side with 27 points, including three three-point plays, but his effort was not enough to prevent Zvezda from falling to 0–2. Codi Miller-McIntyre contributed 18 points, four rebounds, and four assists.
Zvezda opened the game on a 6–0 run behind Nwora’s early scoring. Chima Moneke added seven points in the first period as the visitors built an 18–9 advantage. Bayern responded with triples from Obst and Niels Giffey to grab a brief 20–19 lead, but back-to-back threes by Miller-McIntyre helped Zvezda edge ahead 28–24 after one quarter.
The second quarter followed a similar script. Nikola Kalinic and Miller-McIntyre stretched the margin to 34–26, though Bayern stayed within reach thanks to Obst and Kamar Baldwin from beyond the arc. Despite trailing 51–43 late in the half, the hosts closed strongly to cut the deficit to 55–50 at intermission.
Nwora’s third three-point play restored a nine-point cushion at 59–50 early in the third, but Bayern struck back quickly. Obst drained consecutive threes and Mike added another to bring it to 64–63. With the score still tight at 66–63, Bayern unleashed a decisive 14–2 run, capped by Mike and Obst from deep, to build a 77–68 advantage.
That momentum carried into the final period. Bayern limited Zvezda to one free throw over the first four minutes, stretching the gap to 86–72 behind contributions from Stefan Jovic and Justinian Jessup.
Zvezda briefly closed within 86–78 during a Bayern scoring drought, but Obst sealed the result by hitting three more triples in under two minutes. His shooting display put the hosts ahead 95–83 with just over two minutes to play.
Bayern improved its record to 1–1, while Zvezda dropped to 0–2 in EuroLeague competition.
