Gabriel Deck made a triumphant return to the court for Real Madrid, sealing the game with two clutch free throws in the final seconds to push his team past Lenovo Tenerife 72–71 and into the 2025 Spanish ACB SuperCup Final.
It was Deck’s first appearance in five months after a lengthy layoff, but the Argentinian forward wasted no time reminding fans of his value. He finished with 12 points, none bigger than the pair at the line with 21 seconds left that ultimately decided the outcome.
“I just tried to stay calm and do my job,” Deck said after the game. “It feels good to help the team in such an important moment.”
Veteran guard Sergio Llull also delivered when it mattered most. He matched Deck with 12 points, including six in the final four minutes of play. His late surge helped Real Madrid claw back from what looked like a daunting deficit.
The Blancos had trailed 35–49 early in the third quarter before slowly narrowing the gap. Llull’s go-ahead basket in the fourth period made it 66–65, setting the stage for the dramatic finish.
Tenerife stayed competitive until the end, but after Deck’s decisive free throws, Jaime Fernández misfired on a potential game-winning three-pointer. With that, Real Madrid earned the chance to reclaim the SuperCup for the first time since 2023.
For Tenerife, Giorgi Shermadini was dominant, scoring a game-high 23 points, while Marcelinho Huertas added 14 as the duo kept their team within striking distance.
The victory, however, came with some concern for Real Madrid. Guard Theo Maledon was forced to leave the floor after just two minutes in the first quarter with an adductor issue.
The Frenchman had already been sidelined earlier in September with an injury to the same area, and his status moving forward is unclear.
In the other semifinal, Valencia punched their ticket to the final by defeating Unicaja Malaga 93–87.
Newcomer Omari Moore impressed with 20 points and six rebounds, helping his team advance and setting up a showdown with Real Madrid for the trophy.
