The Phoenix Suns have waived guard Jaden Shackelford just one day after officially signing him, according to HoopsHype.

Shackelford, 24, joined the Suns following a productive season with their G League affiliate, the Valley Suns. He averaged 17.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.0 assists across 34 games while attempting more than nine three-pointers per contest.

The 6-foot-3 guard first went undrafted out of Alabama in 2022 before carving out a role in the G League with the Oklahoma City Blue. He helped Oklahoma City capture the 2024 G League championship before moving to Phoenix’s system.

Shackelford’s scoring ability was his main strength, with his high-volume perimeter shooting earning him two-way consideration. In 2022-23, he averaged 15.0 points per game as a rookie with Oklahoma City, followed by 13.1 points in 2023-24.

The Suns briefly signed him to an Exhibit 10 deal last fall before waiving him, later bringing him back through their developmental program. His second stint with Phoenix has now ended in similar fashion, leaving his professional future uncertain.

Phoenix’s current roster already features a crowded backcourt with Devin Booker, Jalen Green, Grayson Allen, and Dillon Brooks occupying key minutes. That depth left little room for Shackelford to secure a long-term spot.
