The Brooklyn Nets are bringing in former NBA guard Acie Law as their new Director of Player Personnel, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

Law has spent the past three seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder, most recently serving as Director of Amateur Scouting. He played a role in the franchise’s 2025 championship run, helping build one of the league’s deepest rosters.

Before joining Oklahoma City, Law worked four years as a scout with the Sacramento Kings. His eye for young talent and international experience positioned him as a strong candidate for Brooklyn’s front office restructuring.

The 40-year-old carries a decorated basketball résumé from both his playing and post-playing career. At Texas A&M, he was a consensus first-team All-American, won the Bob Cousy Award in 2007, and had his jersey retired by the Aggies.

Selected 11th overall in the 2007 NBA Draft, Law spent five seasons in the league with the Hawks, Warriors, Bobcats, Bulls, and Grizzlies. He later found success in Europe, winning back-to-back EuroLeague titles with Olympiacos in 2012 and 2013.

Following retirement, Law entered coaching at Ranger College before transitioning into scouting and player development. His blend of on-court experience and front office work has earned him respect across the league.

For Brooklyn, the hire comes as the franchise prepares for its 50th NBA season. The Nets hold a promising young core that includes Egor Demin, Nolan Traoré, and Ben Saraf, along with veterans like Michael Porter Jr. and Terance Mann.
