After wrapping up the 2024/25 season on a two-way contract with the Sacramento Kings, guard Mason Jones is set to take his talents overseas.

According to ESPN’s Olgun Uluc, Jones is finalizing an agreement to join the Perth Wildcats of Australia’s National Basketball League (NBL).

Jones, a 6’4″ shooting guard who entered the league undrafted out of Arkansas in 2020, has spent much of his career straddling the line between the NBA and its developmental system.

Over the past four years, he has logged 51 total regular season appearances for the Rockets, Sixers, Lakers, and Kings.

His role at the NBA level has been limited, where he averaged 4.4 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in just 9.0 minutes per game, while shooting .427 from the field, .329 from beyond the arc, and .663 at the free-throw line.

Jones has also seen international action, having played briefly with Turkish club Darüşşafaka in 2023 before returning to the G League. He inked a two-year two-way deal with Sacramento in February 2024, finishing out that contract this past summer.

While he wasn’t a consistent contributor in Sacramento, the 27-year-old emerged as a dominant force with the Stockton Kings, Sacramento’s G League affiliate.

In 27 games with Stockton last season, Jones posted eye-popping numbers – 23.6 points, 7.9 assists, and 5.1 rebounds per contest – while shooting .492 from the floor, an impressive .447 from three, and .790 from the line.

His standout play earned him a spot on the All-NBAGL Second Team, and he capped the year by being named Most Valuable Player of the G League Finals after leading Stockton to the 2025 league championship.

Perth, who finished the 2024/25 NBL season with an 18-11 record before falling to Melbourne United in the semifinals, had reportedly been evaluating several NBA veterans for their final import slot.

Along with Jones, players like Kobi Simmons and Yuri Collins were considered before the Wildcats ultimately turned to the former Razorback.

The signing marks a significant move for Perth as they look to strengthen their backcourt with proven scoring punch and playmaking ability, while offering Jones a chance to play a starring role on one of the NBL’s most competitive stages.
