NBA legend Charles Barkley criticized the league’s new television deal ahead of the 2025–26 season, claiming it overlooks fans.

“They took all the money from all 3 networks… I think this is going to come back to bite them,” Barkley said, emphasizing the long-term impact of the deal.

“People can complain all they want to. For the next 11 years, they don’t give a s**t about the fans,” he added.

The agreement locks the NBA into broadcast and streaming contracts for the next 11 years, a move Barkley believes prioritizes revenue over the fan experience.

Barkley suggested that while viewers can voice complaints, the league will remain largely indifferent to their concerns throughout the contract’s duration.

The TV deal comes as the NBA continues to expand its global reach and digital offerings, including streaming partnerships, but Barkley questioned whether the league is maintaining accessibility for domestic fans.

With media rights now a primary source of revenue, the executive approach behind the contract underscores a shift toward business priorities rather than fan-centered initiatives.
