Lauri Markkanen headlines Finland’s official 12-man roster for FIBA EuroBasket 2025, with the NBA star set to lead the Susijengi on home soil.
Markkanen has been in blistering form during Finland’s warm-up games, recently dropping a national team career-high of 48 points, a performance that has drawn widespread attention and raised expectations for his impact in the upcoming tournament.
Finland’s confirmed EuroBasket 2025 roster:
Jacob Grandison, Andre Gustavson, Mikael Jantunen, Miro Little, Alexander Madsen, Lauri Markkanen, Edon Maxhuni, Miikka Muurinen, Olivier Nkamhoua, Sasu Salin, Ilari Seppala, Elias Valtonen
The Finns approach EuroBasket with plenty of momentum, having compiled an unbeaten 4-0 record in friendly matchups, sweeping both Belgium and Poland in back-to-back contests.
The victories not only boosted confidence but also showcased the team’s balance of experience and rising talent.
Alongside Markkanen’s superstar presence, Finland can rely on seasoned veterans like sharpshooting guard Sasu Salin, who brings leadership and international know-how.
Mikael Jantunen continues to establish himself as a key contributor, while promising young forward Miikka Muurinen has generated excitement as a potential breakout player.
Finland has shown steady progress on the EuroBasket stage in recent years. After reaching the Round of 16 in 2017, they advanced to the Quarter-Finals in 2022, where they were ultimately eliminated by eventual champions Spain.
Hosting Group B in Tampere, Finland will face a competitive field that includes Germany, Lithuania, Montenegro, Sweden, and Great Britain. Their goal is clear: to qualify for the Final Phase in Riga, Latvia, and push even further than in past editions.
The campaign tips off with a crucial opener against Sweden, offering Finland the chance to make a strong statement and begin their home tournament with maximum momentum.
